Why does this site exist? (Updated May 4th 2009- check out the bottom of the post!)
For about the last 3 or 4 years I’ve been working for a company that uses many of Zenith InfoTech’s services. I bought this domain name after we signed up with Zenith in anticipation that someday we may need to utilize the power of collective bargaining with them. Our business has become extremely dependent on Zenith Infotech and generally speaking we are pretty happy with their service. Sometimes we get annoyed when they make changes and don’t involve us, or when they notify us AFTER the changes have taken place. Their decision to move to Bit Defender from AVG would be an example – but I’ll save that rant for another time. Generally speaking though, that is not the norm and we’re mostly happy with how Zenith treats us. Yes, we’ve even grown to love the NOC.
With that being said I still think it would be advantageous to have a cenralized place to discuss Zenith InfoTech’s services and how some other partners are using them. Off the top of my head the scripting engine is a weak spot for us and I’d like to talk about that with some other partners.
My initial thoughts regarding the site and user accounts are that there should be some type of verification that you are already a Zenith partner in order to join – but I’m not sure how to accomplish that yet. I think eliminating the “should I sign up with Zenith?” discussions would make the content more valuable to existing partners. For now I’m going to leave it open to the public.
I’ll probably be looking for someone to help co-administrate \ moderate the site at some point, but lets get some partners on here first. I’m sure the BDR NAS will be a popular topic, so I’ll probably start posting there. I look forward to any comments or suggestions. Thanks for visiting the unofficial Zenith Infotech Reseller blog.
UPDATE – MAY 4TH 2009
I’m considering moving from a “blog” format to a “forum” format to facilitate more open and focused discussion. We had almost 100 new users in the last week or so, including the CEO of Zenith, but not many people are posting. A forum should help to facilitate more posting and It’ll help to keep the site a bit more organized & scalable.

I’ve created a Twitter account tied to this site. http://www.twitter.com/zenith_infotech. I intend to follow-back everyone that follows this site. It’ll help the information gathering process and keep the site more up to date. If you don’t currently use Twitter, or have tried it and found it to be generally of little interest, try installing Tweet Deck, Seesmic Desktop or Digsby. (Twitter is actually really cool and useful)
